Hoa Xuan Stadium expected to be completed later this year
The Da Nang Construction and Infrastructure Development Company recently refuted incorrect information that the SHB Da Nang Football Club will have to rent a stadium for the 2015 V-League season which begins in mid-January. The main cause of concern is that the present Chi Lang Stadium will be demolished to build a multi-storey trade and services centre, whilst construction of the new Hoa Xuan Stadium in Cam Le District to replace it is facing many financial difficulties.
Started in February 2013, construction of the 281.3 billion VND stadium will re-use some materials removed from the Chi Lang Stadium to save construction costs. There will be a 5-tier A stand, single-tier B, C and D stands, drinking, eating and toilet areas, and other rooms. The new stadium’s playing surface will be planted with US Princess 77 Bermuda grass seed, and will include a fish-bone-shaped underground drainage system, and an automatic watering system.

So far, about 80% of the construction work of the new stadium’s stands has been completed. The A stand’s 3rd tier and the piers of the 4th tier have been poured with concrete, and the pouring for the 4th tier is now underway. The building of the concrete piles and beams of the B and D stands has been completed. In addition, the pouring of concrete for the C stand’s foundations, its beams and piers has now been carried out.
Construction of the Hoa Xuan Stadium is attracting a great deal of attention from the city’s leaders because it is one of the city’s key projects in 2014, and 100 billion VND has been spent on the project. The Construction and Infrastructure Development Company has asked the city leaders to give another 130 billion VND in order to complete the project as scheduled by late December. If this happens, the football club will not need to hire a stadium for the new season.
