Da Nang People’s Committee (PC) Chairman Huynh Duc Tho and municipal PC Vice Chairman Nguyen Ngoc Tuan jointly chaired a Monday’s discussion about optimal plans to upgrade some intersections in the inner-city.  Most notable amongst them are one at the western end of the Rong (Dragon) Bridge, and another of the 2 September, Tran Thi Ly and Duy Tan streets.

The upgrade of the major intersections is very necessary to deal with the current traffic congestion at these sites, in order to perfect the overall local urban traffic network, and to meet the city’s sustainable urban development requirements.

A total of 5 design options for the 2 intersections mentioned above, developed by domestic and foreign consultancy companies, are available on the Transport Department’s official website at http://www.sgtvt.danang.gov.vn/index.php?lang=vi.  The intention is to collect more constructive opinions from the general public about these ideas.

Also at the event, the city leaders highly praised the design options for identifying reasonable solutions to ease congestion and ensure traffic safety.

Chairman Tho also urged relevant local agencies to facilitate the consultancy units to continue developing their designs.  The municipal PC will select the best design ideas in 2018, and work is expected to start on the upgrade of the intersections in 2019.

Apart from the upgrade of the local major intersections, Chairman Tho completely agreed with the development of a local riverside route.

The route will begin from Bach Dang Street and run through the Dao Xanh (Green Lake) urban area and the eastern side of the Asia Park, and it will then connect with Thanh Long Street along the western bank of Cau Do-Tuy Loan River.

The architectural design for the route is required to be completed by July 2018.
