In particular, some of the technological products were designed to help busy women ease the overwhelming burden of household shores in modern life.

This was the 3rd time that the competition had been held in Da Nang, but the 7th time in Viet Nam.

This competition was open to all start-up lovers who are living either in Viet Nam or abroad.  In just 54 hours, participants were required to work in teams, and they were also asked to together discuss and develop their own business plans with the help of start-up mentors.  The most outstanding teams advanced to the final round, and the finalists were given a chance to talk with angel investors who helped them develop their good ideas.

With its outstanding advantages, an application named ‘Happy Mom’ won the 1st prize at the competition.

This mobile app provides users with adequate necessary information during their pregnancy and lactation periods.

Furthermore, ‘Happy Mom’ allows its users to arrange their appointments with doctors at medical establishments in an easy and effective manner.

Mr Nguyen Long Giang, the Head of the project’s development group, said that many lactating mothers usually experience postpartum depression.  Another fact is that many local public hospitals sometimes face patient overload and, therefore, doctors find it very hard to handle a large number of out-patients. Meanwhile, many patients, especially pregnant women, also feel very exhausted and tired of waiting for their turn for examinations there.  ‘Happy Mom’, therefore, is indeed a good choice for pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers.

Another outstanding mobile app is the ‘Chim Xanh’ which specialises in supplying processed products which meet the national food safety and hygiene regulations.

This practical app helps to relieve the burden for those who are too busy to shop and process food for their families’ meals due to their busy work schedule in modern life.

Ms Vo Thi Kim Thai, one of the project’s developers, hoped that ‘Chim Xanh’ would become the city’s first processed food provider soon.
