Public sector employees nationwide will have 7 days off work for the forthcoming Tet Festival, from 14 to 20 February 2018.  Thanks to this, many travel agencies in Da Nang are now taking advantage of the expected increase in demand for travel by offering various domestic and foreign tours.

Like other local travel agencies, the Mai Linh tourism company is also providing various very reasonably priced tours for its customers.

In addition to its domestic tours, Mai Linh is offering numerous attractive overseas packages to South Korea, Myanmar and other foreign countries worldwide.  The company is also providing such services as accommodation, air fares and transportation for its clients.

According to the company’s Director, Mr Nguyen Viet Trai, over recent years, several-day adventure tours are most preferred by many young clients.  The elderly, by contrast, have showed their preference to short day trips rather than any types of tours.

Mr Trai added that pilgrimage tourism packages to popular pagodas and other sacred worship places in Da Nang and its neighbouring localities are now also available.

Mr Nguyen Nhu Nam, the General Director of the Viet Nam Travel Mart Company, remarked that the volume of clients booking Tet tours through his company over the imminent Tet period is likely to climb by between about 30% and 40% against the same period last year.

The rise can be attributed to the opening of many direct flights connecting Da Nang with other destinations at home and aboard, and the benefits of air charter services for tour bookers.  In particular, charter flight tickets for Tet are usually either equal to, or just about 10% higher than normal days.

With just about 2 months to go to Tet, the Da Nang-based Viet Nam Tourism Joint Stock Co (Vitours) has launched such tour packages to Central Viet Nam as ‘Thien Duong Mien Trung’ (Paradise in the Central Region) and ‘Du Xuan Tren Xu Da Thanh’ (Spring Tours to Da Nang).

In a similar vein, the Ben Thanh Tourist Company is offering tours to explore the beauty of the city, and the central region as a whole.  Most notable amongst them are ‘Dat Quang Ngay Xua’ (The Former Quang Nam-Da Nang Province in the Past) and ‘Dau An Mien Trung’ (Impressions of Central Viet Nam).

Such local attractions as the Sun World Ba Na Hills, the Nui Than Tai Hot Spring Park, the Marble Mountains Tourist Site and the Asia Park, are also gearing up for the forthcoming New Year and Tet holidays.

Most notably, the first-ever Winter Festival is taking place at the Sun World Ba Na Hills until 31 December.

Entrance fees to this venue for adults are priced at 650,000 VND per person, with children of between 1m and 1.3m tall at 550,000 VND per person.  Children under 1m tall will be allowed on free.

At the entrance, visitors are welcomed by colorfully-decorated Christmas trees, in such a cozy atmosphere.  At the Du Dôme Square, visitors get surprised with the highest Christmas tree with the most glorious decorations.  It is wonderful to take selfies under the lovely poinsettias and ornaments.

Not only for its Christmas theme, the Festival is also treating visitors for the major stage with many exciting performances, for the first time on Ba Na, with the participation of many European artistes.
