Over recent years, the Da Nang Taxation Department has made every effort to enhance taxpayers’ satisfaction by accelerating administrative reform.

A focus has been on promoting the application of information technology (IT) in State management activities in order to create more favourable conditions for local residents and businesses.

In particular, the total of tax collected in the city, tax rates, and tax-related information, have been widely displayed at local tax offices and on the Department’s website. The intention is to ensure transparency and equity in the collection of taxes.

Mr Pham Huu Trung from the Department’s Support Office for Taxpayers said since the start of this year numerous support programmes for taxpayers have been implemented by his agency.

Included were giving active assistance to newly-established businesses, publicising tax settlement-related instructions on the Department’s website, and helping businesses deal with difficulties relating to tax declaration and payment services.

Ms Le Thi Chinh, a chief accountant of an enterprise in Lien Chieu District, highlighted the convenience of e-tax declaration and online payment services in simplifying tax payment procedures. She underlined the significance of training courses on online tax payment organised by the Department’s one-stop-shop division in helping businesses implement their tax obligations timely and quickly.

Head of the municipal Taxation Department Nguyen Dinh An remarked that special attention has been paid to boosting the IT application in tax reforms in order to ensure the fairness and transparency of taxpayers, as well as to increase the efficiency of managing State budget collection.

“Since 2017, hundreds of training courses on tax policies and tax payment procedures, plus dialogues between the Department’s leaders and local businesses, have been organised in the city. In addition, the Department has cooperated with the Da Nang Portal to hold an online exchange with taxpayers, and with the local Investment Promotion Centre to organise seminars on best ways to solve tax procedures-related problems”, Mr An noted.

Thanks to its great efforts, the Department topped the city-level administrative reform rankings amongst the local financial agencies for two consecutive years 2016 and 2017.
