The 21^st Hoa My Communal House Festival took place in Lien Chieu District on the 12^th day of the 1^st lunar month, which this year fell on 8 February.

The event featured many solemn traditional activities and exciting folk games.  The activities included vigil and drumming ceremonies, as well as flower, fruit and incense-offering ceremonies.  Meanwhile, the festive activities included a calligraphy-writing contest, road races, a flower-arranging contest, and interesting folk games.

 There were street parades of flower-decorated floats on the evenings of 7 and 8 February, along with an exhibition to display home utensils and working tools used by the ancestors of the past to remind their descendants of the Hoa My Village’s traditions.

In addition, local residents and visitors were treated to a fascinating ‘bai choi’ (singing while acting as playing cards) performance, along with a ‘Tuong’ (classic drama) performance by artistes from the city's Nguyen Hien Dinh Tuong Theatre.

Within the framework of the Festival, another event called ‘The 4^th Village Festival in Lien Chieu District’s Hoa Minh Ward’ took place in the Hoa My Village at the same time.  It drew a great deal of attention from local villagers.
