Entitled ‘Flying up Dreams’, the Da Nang Kite Festival 2017 will take place at the My Khe Beach - the area opposite the intersection of Vo Van Kiet and Vo Nguyen Giap in Son Tra District- on 15 and 16 July.

The event will attract a total of 60 members from kite clubs in Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City.

The kite artistes will fly their hand-made kites in decorations and paintings of animals and ocean creatures from 9.30am to 11.00am, and from 1.00pm to 6.00pm on Saturday and Sunday.

The artistes will compete in a kite battle on Saturday afternoon, while kids will enjoy a free kite decoration zone on the beach from 3.30pm to 5.30pm on Saturday and Sunday.

A martial arts performance will also be held at the beach this weekend.

The event’s organisers said craftsmen will show their kite-making skills to visitors as well as kite decoration and kite flying.
