Chairman Tho’s presence at the event made the first time the municipal government top leader had attended the home team’s event.

In his remarks, Chairman Tho pointed out to the fact that, SHB DN recorded lower-than-expected results at last year’s V-League due to unexpected injuries of its key players and this has somewhat dashed the team’s hopes.  In the end, SHB DN were only in 9th place with 33 points.  Therefore, he underlined a must-do for the city’s team to make its new motivation and vitality for this year’s V-League season, especially enhancing the fighting spirit for the squad’s ‘warriors’.

The city leader re-affirmed that his attendance at the ceremony aimed to convey a message that the local authorities hoped that SHB DN would gain the best possible results from the forthcoming national premier league in a bid to meet local fans’ great expectations.

The high-ranking city official also vowed that the city administration would create the most possible favourable conditions for the operation of the home team and the SHB DANANG SPORT JSC.

He also took the opportunity to appeal for sponsors to give even more aid to the home team in an effective manner for the sake of its sustainable development in the years ahead.

Also at the event, on behalf of the city leaders, Chairman Tho presented SHB DN with a laudatory banner from the municipal PC in the hope that the club would record even more success this year.

Alongside, Certificates of Merit from the city’s PC were given to 3 SHB DN players in recognition of their great devotion to the impressive success of the national U23 squad at the Asian Football Confederation Under-23 (AFC U23) Championship which took place in China in January 2018.

The honourees are striker Ha Duc Chinh, central midfielder Bui Tien Dung and goalkeeper Dang Ngoc Tuan.

Currently, the home team is focusing on developing its squad, especially how quickly the new foreign players settle into the team.

The team has already sign contracts with Brazilian striker Diogo Pereira from Becamex Binh Duong and Cameroon’s midfielder Louis Epassi Ewonde.

Besides Ewonde and Pereira, Da Nang have also signed contracts with 3 players from PVF centre -- goalkeeper Phan Van Bieu, striker Le Van Diep and defender Lieu Quang Vinh.

Hopefully, SHB DN's head coach Nguyen Minh Phuong and his squad will do their utmost to gain the best possible results from the new league season.

In their first match of the V-league, SHB Da Nang will play away to Than Quang Ninh at 6.00pm on Sunday, 11 March.
