A selection of six thought-provoking and inspiring films from prominent Danish filmmakers will be shown, including Land of Mine, Across the Waters, The Hunt, Long Story Short, Key House Mirror and A Hijacking.

The films represent the high level of Danish film production in recent years. They have won many awards and nominations at international and Danish film festivals.

The Hunt and Land of Mine were nominated for Best Foreign Language Film at the 86th and the 89th Academy Awards, respectively.

The Hunt earned the Best Actor award for Mads Mikkelsen for his role at the Cannes Film Festival 2012.

The narratives of the films are captivating and varied, ranging from an ethical post-war tension between justice and vengeance or a man’s fight against wrong accusations of child abuse to the struggle for true love and the perfect relationship of young people.

The Danish Film Weeks is a regular cultural event hosted by the Embassy of Denmark. This is the second time the event has taken place in Hue and Da Nang.

The films will be shown at Cinestar, 25 Hai Ba Trung, Hue City and Galaxy, Coopmart, 478 Dien Bien Phu, Da Nang.

Tickets are free and can be collected from June 24 at Cinestar Hue and Galaxy Da Nang. All films are with Vietnamese and English subtitles.

The Danish Film Weeks 2019 will continue in Ha Noi and HCM City in October 2019. The event is co-sponsored by Carlsberg Viet Nam.
