City leaders offer Bunpimay greetings to Laos consulate

On Thursday morning, a group of Da Nang’s leaders, led by municipal People's Committee Chairman Huynh Duc Tho, visited and extended their greetings to the staff of the Laos Consulate General in Da Nang on the occasion of their traditional Bunpimay New Year festival.

On behalf of the Laos Consulate General staff members, Consul General Phommaseng Khamsene thanked the city leaders for their kind concern and wished them all good health.  He spoke highly of the fruitful cooperation between Da Nang and some south-central provinces of Laos over recent years.  He also hoped that the bilateral cooperation would be boosted even more in the years ahead.

In reply, Chairman Duc Tho remarked that his city has always paid special attention to promoting bilateral cooperation with Laotian localities in order to preserve and foster the special traditional friendship between the two countries.

The city’s leaders also took the opportunity to send their best wishes to the Lao Party and government leaders on the occasion of this festival.  In addition, they sent messages of congratulations to the Embassy of the Lao People's Democratic Republic in Viet Nam, and to the leaders of Laotian localities which have established bilteral ties with Da Nang.  They are the provinces of Savannakhet, Salavan, Champasak, Attapeu and Sekong.
