Chairman Tho hoped that the bilateral cooperative relations with South Korea would be enhanced in various aspects in the years ahead.

In reply, the South Korean ambassador asked the city authorities to facilitate the establishment of the South Korean Embassy in Da Nang as soon as possible, as well as to give active support for South Korean tour guides who are working in the city.

Since 1977, Da Nang has established bilateral cooperative relations with 5 Korean localities. To date, the city has attracted 144 South Korean-invested projects with a total investment capital of over 600 million USD. In particular, 15 businesses in the city have set up bilateral trade relationships with their partners in South Korea.

Last year, the total export turnover between Da Nang and South Korean rose by 13% against 2016 to hit an estimated 34 million USD.

Currently, there are 4 direct flights connecting Da Nang with some localities of South Korea, with a total of 127 flights per week.

This month, the total number of South Korean visitors to Da Nang is estimated to have reached 800 million people, up 101% compared with the same period last year.
