At around 7.40pm on Monday, fishing boat DNa 90541 caught fire whilst it was anchored at Da Nang’s Tho Quang fishing wharf.  The boat’s owner is Mr Tran Van Muoi from Son Tra District’s Man Thai Ward.  Fortunately, there was nobody on board at the time.

Witnesses said that they had used portable fire extinguishers to try to control the blaze and then shouted for help.

After receiving a report from local residents, the district’s Division of Fire Fighting and Prevention immediately sent 2 boats and 3 fire engines to the scene.  Thanks to the great efforts of the firefighters, the blaze was completely extinguished within 30 minutes, but the engine room and all the machinery in it was completely destroyed.  It was thought that an electrical short circuit had caused the incident.
