At 8.50am on Tuesday, the Zone II Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre (Da Nang MRCC) received an SOS message from Mr Nguyen Van Hung, captain of fishing boat DNa 90901 from Son Tra District’s Nai Hien Dong Ward.

The boat, with the fishermen on board, had suffered an engine breakdown whilst they were fishing about 55 nautical miles off the Da Nang coast.

In the evening of the same day, rescue ship SAR 412 from the Da Nang MRCC was sent out to help the boat and its crew, and it arrived at the scene at 9.45pm.  The fishermen were transferred to the rescue ship and the boat was towed back to Da Nang.
