The cold front is bringing heavy and very heavy rain to central coastal localities from Quang Tri to Quang Ngai provinces, including Da Nang, according to the Mid-Central Region Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting.

In particular, the rainfall from Da Nang to Quang Ngai Province is between 20 and 70mm, and from Quang Binh to Thua Thien Hue provinces between 40 and 100mm, or even higher in some parts of these localities.

It is predicted that the effect of the front will continue into Saturday (13 October). Therefore, the Da Nang area and elsewhere along the central coast will see scattered showers with cooler temperatures ranging between 20 and 280C until this weekend.

In addition, there are further warnings of potential thunder, lightning, hail, and strong winds.

Notably, Ha Tinh, Quanh Binh and Thua Thien Hue provinces are forecast to be hit by a new wave of flooding with 1m to 3m depth of water. There will be a high risk of landslides at some vulnerable lowland areas in these localities.
