The Da Nang People's Committee will ask for permission from national government agencies to take back vacant coastal land to the east of tourist areas in Ngu Hanh Son District in order to create a seaside route.

The intention is to facilitate locals and visitors to cycle, as well as to take leisurely strolls to enjoy the fresh air, or to explore the beauty of beaches. This, in turn, will help to create a dynamic area providing tourism services in the city.

In fact, the creation of such a seaside route is a tough task due to the ongoing complicated coastal erosion along parts of beaches, as well as the path’s impacts on the operation of the existing high-end resorts.

The creation of a footpath will allow public access to beaches at the end of coastal Ho Xuan Huong Street, and another one between the Furama Resort Danang and the Ariyana Danang Tourism Complex in Ngu Hanh Son District’s Khue My Ward. The work is scheduled to be completed no later than 30 December this year.

Following the city authorities’ approval, land which has been handed over to businesses at delayed coastal and downtown projects will be taken back soon in order to develop pubic works for the sake of the general public.

In detail, a coastal public park with the intention of promoting public beach use will be created at the site of the Hon Ngoc A Chau coastal tourism project, and another one opposite the Huyen Tran Cong Chua Street.

In similar vein, a bathing area associated with a public park will be created at the site of the DAP-DAP 1- DAP 2 project, and the Non Nuoc swimming area will be set up.

Relevant local agencies will be responsible for implementing legal procedures for land acquisition and fulfill other related assigned tasks. These projects must be put into use by late next year.

Prescribed in the national Law on Land, land can be taken back to construct historical-cultural relic sites, municipal/provincial public construction works and utilities, entertainment areas serving to the community and other related project.

The withdrawal of land which has been handed over to businesses is based on either compensation payments at the market price for them or allocating another suitable location in the city.
