Improve the effectiveness of propaganda work Viet Nam's sea and island sovereignty in central region

In 2023 alone, the Navy Region 3 Command, and the Publicity and Training Departments of provincial and municipal party committees in Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien Hue, Da Nang, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai and Binh Dinh, organised training courses on propaganda and dissemination of laws of sovereignty and border of the sea of Viet Nam for over 10,000 officials and people.

These units donated 457 national flags, distributed 275 sets of documents and 950 leaflets, and gave 534 life jackets, buoys and many essential materials for fishermen.

Also, the Navy Region 3 Command coordinated with news and press agencies inside and outside the army to publish more than 1,300 news, articles, and reports reflecting activities to protect sea and island sovereignty.

On the occasion of Tet 2024, delegations of localities, newspapers and radio agencies paid pre-Tet visits to officers, soldiers and people living on Con Co and Ly Son island districts, as well as donated navy officials and soldiers essential goods totalling over VND1.8 billion.

The information was released at the Wednesday meeting held in Quang Tri Province’ Dong Ha City which reviewed the coordination of the Navy Region 3 Command, and the Publicity and Training Departments of the central region's provincial and municipal party committees, in publicising laws of sovereignty and border of the sea of Viet Nam in 2023 and identified new tasks for 2024.

Also at the event, the Navy Region 3 Command, and the Publicity and Training Departments of the central region's provincial and municipal party committees, discussed and exchanged experiences in the propaganda and dissemination of laws of sovereignty and border of the sea of Viet Nam and signed a coordination programme for 2024.

On the occasion, the Navy awarded Certificates of Merit to 7 collectives and 7 individuals with outstanding achievements in coordinating maritime and island propaganda activities in 2023. Also, a charity house was given to poor fishermen in Quang Tri Province.

The Naval Region 3 Command presented gifts to 20 needy fishermen, worth VND more than 80 million, in Quang Tri Province.
