Thai Jet Sports Boating Association Adviser Pariket Sibusahakarn advised on “Thailand Moves Forward” that Jet Ski World Cup 2017 will be held on Jomtien Beach in Pattaya, beginning on 7 December.  The event is to promote Thailand towards being a world recognised venue for global sporting tournaments.

Pariket explained Thailand previously held a range of smaller Jet Ski events with participants from no more than three countries but was noted for the fairness of its judges and was chosen to host the upcoming World Cup.  He said that if Thailand continues to build confidence in its sports event organisation abilities, it could become a leader in the sector.

Governor of the Sports Authority of Thailand Sakol Wannapong later remarked that sports events have become a significant driver of the Thai economy with Jet Skis also playing a key role.  He let on that the sports authority is linking development of sports into the 20 Year National Strategy and will use Jet Skiing as a pilot sporting event.
