Hoa Vang urban area project cancelled
Last Friday, Da Nang Party Committee Deputy Secretary Tran Tho, municipal People’s Committee (PC) Chairman Van Huu Chien, and PC Vice Chairman Nguyen Ngoc Tuan assessed 34 urban planning projects in the city.
Following instructions from the local authorities, the Da Nang Institute for Planning and Construction rechecked the feasibility of the Hoa Vang urban area project.
The meeting in progress |
Approved in September 2011, the project was expected to be implemented on an area of 984.2ha opposite the district’s administrative centre on Highway 14B. The project would have extended into the district’s communes of Hoa Nhon, Hoa Phong, Hoa Tien and Hoa Khuong, which together have a total population of about 10,000. The Institute proposed that this project should be cancelled due to its unfeasibility, and also suggested that the site should be put under the management of the district’s authorities.
At the meeting, local relevant agencies were asked to widely announce the cancellation of the Hoa Vang project.
