By the end of June, Viet Nam’s industrial parks (IPs) had attracted 4,665 FDI projects worth 70 billion USD.  In addition, the coastal economic zones (EZs) nationwide have also lured FDI capital totalling 40 billion USD.  Meanwhile, 700 million USD has been injected into FDI projects at the border gate EZs across the country.

These figures were officially released at yesterday’s meeting of the National Steering Committee for the Development of IPs and EZs and the Management Boards of IPs and EZs in localities nationwide.

Viet Nam now has 289 IPs covering a total area of over 81,000ha and 15 coastal EZs located on 698,000ha.  Also, 28 EZs have been established at 21 of the country’s 25 border gates.
