Asia Park project developed by Sun Group
On Monday, the Da Nang People’s Committee Chairman, Mr Van Huu Chien, asked the municipal Department of Construction and the Institute for Planning and Construction to strictly implement the approved plan for the construction of Asia Park.
Being developed by the Sun Group, the 4 trillion VND project covers over 48ha of land and over 40.8ha of water on the south-east side of the 2 September Peace Monument. Designed by world-renowned American architect Bill Bensley, the park will feature a 125m-high observation wheel.
The city leader urged the project’s developer to submit its detailed plans to the local authorities for approval in order to mobilise donations from local individuals and organisations for the construction of the park’s functional areas.
3.3ha of land, which was previously earmarked for the construction of the city’s Children’s House, will not be used for the expansion of the park. Visitors to Asia Park will be able to park their vehicles in the Tien Son Sports Stadium’s parking areas. The developer was also asked to re-arrange the park’s entertainment areas. In addition, water slides and amusement rides will not be allowed to be positioned behind the Peace Monument.
