Domestic gold prices rise to over 38 million VND per tael
At 10.40am on Thursday, the price of Sai Gon Jewellery Co (SJC) gold went up to over 38 million VND per tael after several consecutive days of decline, an increase of 600,000 VND per tael compared with the previous day. Accordingly, domestic gold prices were over 6 million VND per tael higher than the world prices.
In detail, SJC was purchasing gold for 37.85 million VND per tael, and selling it for 38.37 million VND per tael, whilst there was a rise of only 2 USD per ounce at Asian trading sessions.
However, domestic gold prices saw a downward trend later the same day. In particular, at 2.10pm Thursday in Da Nang, SJC were buying a tael of gold for 37.55 million VND and selling one for 38.22 million VND.
Phu Nhuan Jewellery Co (PNJ) was buying gold for 37.45 million VND per tael and selling for 38.1 million VND per tael. Meanwhile, Doji Jewellery Co gold was being traded at 37.5 million VND per tael and 38.25 million VND per tael respectively.
Generally, the domestic gold prices are now equal to those on 26 June.
