Numerous projects on southern side of city
After Da Nang’s Nguyen Tri Phuong Bridge and Vo Chi Cong Street were both officially inaugurated and put into use on 30 April, they have helped to link the southern urban areas with the city centre. In addition, numerous key projects are currently under construction on the southern side of the city. They include the Hoa Xuan Stadium, the dedicated waste water treatment plant, a ring road, and some residential areas.
One of the city’s large-scale projects, the 20,559-seater Hoa Xuan Stadium, will cover an area of 102,550m2. The stadium will have a total floor area of 42,240m2 and its stands will cover an area of 9,904m2. There will be a 5-tier A stand, and 1-tier B,C and D stands, drinking, eating and toilet areas, and other rooms. The stadium will feature a playing surface planted with US Princess 77 Bermuda grass seed, a fish-bone-shaped underground drainage system, and an automatic irrigation system. The project is expected to be completed in August 2014.

The construction of the Hoa Xuan waste water treatment plant, with a capacity of 40,000m3 per day, is nearing completion.
Local residents are seeing a bustling and busy working atmosphere at the construction site of a by-pass on the southern side of Hoa Quy-Hoa Phuoc wards.
Apart from above-named projects, several other large-scale projects are under construction. They include the Empire urban area of light, which is being developed by Ha Noi-based Thanh Do Investment Development and Construction Company, and a 5.1ha educational complex in Ngu Hanh Son District’s Phu My An urban area, which is being financed by Singapore’s Kinderworld Education Group. This project is expected to officially open for the 2013 - 2014 academic year.
