The Dumex Viet Nam company has recently recalled all its canned Dumex Gold Step 2 800g products for babies aged between 6 and 12 months because they are suspected of containing a paralysis-causing bacteria called clostridium botulinum.  The products were manufactured on 30 May and they were imported into Viet Nam in Lot No 300513R1 from the Malaysia-based Danone Dumex Company.

The recall began after Similac Gain Plus Eye - Q 400g and 900g products for children aged from 1 to 3 were found to contain the above-mentioned bacteria.

At present, there seem to be very few Dumex Gold Step 2 products in Da Nang’s shops and supermarkets, especially none at the Intimex supermarket, BigC Mall, and Co.opMart.

An owner of a local milk suppliers said that these products are only displayed on a corner of her shelves because they sell slowly.  Fortunately, the products have only just appeared on the domestic market and they have not yet been sold by many of the local milk suppliers.
