Electricity and gas price hikes affect consumer goods
In recent days, Da Nang has witnessed a significant increase in the prices of a wide range of consumer goods due to a hike in electricity and gas prices from early August.
Accordingly, the price of bottled gas has increased by about 10,000 VND per 12kg gas cylinder. For example, the price of a 12kg Petrolimex Gas cylinder is now 415,000 VND, a 12kg Saigon Petro Gas cylinder ranges between 388,000 and 390,000 VND, a 12.5kg Elf Gas cylinder from 408,000 to 410,000 VND, and a 12kg VT-Gas cylinder from 386,000 to 388,000 VND.
The price of rice transported from the southwestern provinces has risen by up to 300 VND per kg. There has been a slight increase in the retail prices of fresh vegetables, pork and beef due to the increase in petrol prices at the end of July.
In detail, the price per kg of tomatoes is 14,000 VND, potatoes 20,000 VND, onions 16,000 VND, squashes 14,000 VND, cabbages 12,000 VND, and sweet cabbages 10,000 VND. In addition, the price of backyard chicken ranges between 90,000 and 100,000 VND per kg, best beef between 200,000 and 220,000 VND, pork butt between 90,000 and 95,000 VND, pork ribs 100,000 VND, top-quality squid 140,000 VND, and eggs 34,000 VND.
Most of the local businesspeople are forecasting that over the next few days there will be fluctuations in the prices of all consumer goods and food as the producers and distributors are considering revising their product prices.
