EWEC Fair - an opportunity to boost international trade cooperation
As part of this year’s national trade promotion programme, the 2013 East-West Economic Corridor (EWEC) International Investment, Trade and Tourism Fair is being held between 8 and 13 August at the Da Nang International Exhibition Fair Centre on Cach Mang Thang Tam Street. The purpose is to open up many cooperative opportunities for domestic and foreign businesses in various aspects.
This year’s fair has attracted 200 more businesses and 300 more stands than last year. 235 of the participants are domestic businesses, 45 come from Thailand, 14 from Laos and 1 from Cambodia.
Although numerous specialised fairs are organised in many localities nationwide, this type of trade show has gained a firm position among Vietnamese trade fairs. As a result, this year’s event has attracted trade promotion centres and business associations from the domestic provinces of Ba Ria-Vung Tau, Dak Lak, Ninh Binh, Phu Yen, An Giang, Long An, Dong Nai, Binh Duong, Thua Thien-Hue, Lam Dong, Yen Bai, Kon Tum, Ha Giang, Thai Nguyen, Binh Thuan, Dong Thap, Ben Tre, Ninh Thuan, and Bac Can.
The stands offer tourism products, electronics, IT, processed and canned food, wooden products and furniture, handicrafts, textiles and garments, fashion accessories, leather goods and footwear, tools and equipment for offices and schools, tourism services and cuisine, as well as real estate projects which are seeking investment.
In addition, trade exchange seminars between Da Nang and the two provinces of An Giang and Lam Dong, and similar events for businesses along the EWEC, will be held during the fair period.
Admission is free and the fair is open from 8.30am each day until 10pm till Tuesday, 13 August.
