Local real estate market over 2nd quarter reviewed

According to the CBRE Viet Nam Global Research and Consulting Department, the 2nd quarter of this year saw an increasing number of vacancies in Da Nang’s commercial centres.  This was particularly evident by the empty spaces recorded at Vinh Trung Plaza’s Dragon Trade Centre and the Indochina Riverside Tower Commercial Centre (IRTCC).

During the period, the Dragon Trade Centre failed to retain many vendors and its vacancy rate has therefore risen significantly.  Meanwhile, the IRTCC has converted its 1st floor into a general trade centre, which is expected to open in the next quarter, after relocating tenants from this floor onto the ground floor.

Due to a dramatic decrease in the number of shoppers at these centres, many of their tenants have moved out to other premises on local streets.

During the same period, the city’s villas and luxury apartments market still remains quiet, with no new projects or sales activities.  In particular, no new projects have been offered for sale since late 2012, and a total of 375 apartments remain unsold as at the end of the 2nd quarter.  Only 4 apartments at the Da Nang Hyatt Regency Resort and Spa, the Dune Residences and the Vinpearl Luxury Da Nang have been sold in this 2nd quarter.
