9-month socio-economic development reviewed

The Da Nang authorities on Tuesday reviewed the implementation of local socio-economic developments over the last 9 months.

Between January and September, the value of local industrial production is expected to have increased by 11% year-on-year to hit an estimated 27.7 trillion VND, fulfilling 72.9% of the year’s target.  The production value of agriculture-forestry-fishery is likely to reach an estimated 1,887 billion VND, achieving 89% of the year’s target.  The total value of retail sales of goods and services is predicted to rise by 18.2% year-on-year to an estimated 45 trillion VND.  Total export turnover of goods and services is expected to go up by 12.4% year-on-year to 1,379 million USD.

By the end of September, the number of tourist arrivals to the city is likely to have climbed by 19.7% year-on-year to 2.54 million, of whom 540, 000 will have been foreigners.  As a result, the city’s tourism sector is estimated to have earned 6,084 billion VND in revenue, a 32% year-on-year increase, fulfilling 93.6% of the year’s target.

In addition, local businesses have so far this year given 22,450 job opportunities to work seekers.

During the same period, a total of 158 road traffic accidents have been reported in the city.  These have resulted in 90 deaths and 130 injuries.  The figures show a year-on-year decrease in the number of accidents by 11, the number of serious injuries by 25, and an increase of 8 in the number of deaths.
