Ensuring sufficient goods for impending wet season

Under the instructions of the Da Nang authorities, some of the city’s relevant agencies and departments are planning to stockpile essential goods to supply the local market in case of storms and floods.  The purpose is to stabilise the market prices of essential goods and ensure sufficient supplies for the impending rainy and stormy season. 

As a result, 8 local businesses will spend over 616 billion VND to stockpile food and consumer goods.  In detail, the Da Nang Food Company will store 350 tons of rice, the Da Nang branch of Vissan 345 tons of their products, the An Hai Dong Cooperative 200 boxes of instant noodles and 8 tons of rice and food, and the Da Nang Me Coc Company 1,500 boxes of instant noodles and 5 tons of food and other products.   The Military Petroleum Corporation Zone 2 will stockpile 900 litres of petrol and 1,100 litres of diesel, whilst Petrolimex Da Nang will store 7.7 million litres of petrol, 6.7 million litres of diesel, 60,000 litres of kerosene and 12,000kg of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG).  The Petro Vietnam Oil Corporation will stockpile 6.1 million litres of petrol and 7 million litres of diesel, and the Central LPG Company will store 100,000kg of LPG.

In addition, the city’s Department of Industry and Trade will spend 12 billion VND to store 1,000 tonnes of rice produced in the southern region, 500 packs of instant noodles, and 50,000 1.5-litre bottles of water.
