Increase in the number of visitors on National Day
Despite seeing only a slight year-on-year increase, Da Nang’s travel companies reported that the number of tourist arrivals to the city for National Day (2 September) rose by up to 30% compared with normal days. Sunday was the busiest day of the weekend for both domestic and foreign visitor arrivals.
Although employees nationwide had only one day off work for this year’s holiday, there were various large-scale events being held in the city to attract visitors. These included the Da Nang International Marathon Competition and the Best Chef Competition 2013.

In addition, the city’s major entertainment areas, including the Ba Na Hills Resort, the Hoa Phu Thanh Resort, and the Suoi Hoa (Spring Flower) and Ngam Doi eco-tourism sites, each welcomed up to 2,000 visitors every day, a 3-fold increase compared to normal days.
Other local tourist attractions, such as the Marble Mountains, the Museum of Cham Sculpture, and the Linh Ung Pagoda, received over 1,000 visitors per day. In particular, there was a significant increase in the number of foreign visitors.
The majority of domestic visitors coming to the city were taking 1 to 3-day packages.
