City shows relatively high economic growth
In 2013, Da Nang’s average per capita income is estimated to be around 56.3 million VND, equivalent to 2,686 USD and a 35% increase over 2011.
The city has also shifted its economic structure more towards services, industry and agriculture in order to achieve its sustainable development goals.
Of particular note, the city has won 2 internationally funded large-scale projects. These are the 272.2 million USD Sustainable City Development Project funded by the World Bank, and the 86.03 million USD Water Supply System Expansion Project financed by the Asian Development Bank.

By the end of 2013, Da Nang expects to have welcomed an estimated 3 million tourists this year, a 30% increase on 2011, of which about 700,000 were foreigners. The city is likely to have earned over 17 trillion VND in revenue, a 28% annual increase.
Between 2011 and 2013, the city’s total capital for development is predicted to have reached an estimated 82,700 billion VND, an annual increase of 4%. The local authorities have granted business registration certificates to about 7,000 enterprises, with a total registered capital of over 20 trillion VND. The city is also expected to have attracted 105 FDI projects worth 493 million USD in total.
The future focus will be on enhancing tax collection with the purpose of reaching 95% of the year’s target and higher in the following years. Top priority will be also given to promoting local economic development, as well as ensuring social welfare during 2013.
