Efforts to ensure stable market prices after storm

Published: October 17, 2013

By 3pm on Tuesday, some of Da Nang’s petrol stations had opened to provide the fuel needs of local residents, but they needed their own power generators.  Most of the local petrol stations are now operating normally and selling their products at the displayed prices.  During strict inspections by the local Markets Management force, no violations relating to unreasonable increases in the price of medicines, power generators, gas or rice have been found.

On Wednesday the Deputy Director of the Da Nang Department of Industry and Trade and Head of the Market Management Board, Mr Lu Bang, asked the local market management teams to increase their checks and inspections of local providers of essential food products, building materials, fuels, and pharmaceutical products.

The emphasis is on checking local markets, supermarkets, and production facilities from 16 - 20 October.  Local traders are required to display the prices of their products, and to sell them at those displayed prices.

Any complaints about unfair prices should be made on the hot lines of the trade Management Division of the city’s Department of Industry and Trade: 0511 3624190 or 0511 3822525.
