Rising commodity prices
On Monday, the price of some commodities in Da Nang’s markets increased significantly after storm No 10 hit the central region.
Fresh and processed vegetables and fruit recorded the highest increase which was between 3,000 VND and 10,000 VND per kg. For example, the price per kg of cabbage increased from 6,000 to 12,000 VND, squash from 6,000 to 10,000 VND, and French beans from 12,000 to 14,000 VND. Also, water morning-glory, vine spinach and katuk were priced at up to 12,000 VND per bunch, up from 5,000 to 7,000 VND.
The price per kg of scad fish increased from 30,000 to 45,000 VND, and white shrimps from 85,000 to 95,000 VND. Most notably, the price of beef ranged from 260,000 to 270,000 VND per kg whilst pork was between 80,000 and 90,000 VND, an increase of up to 20,000 VND per kg.
