The cruise ship Henda, carrying 1,500 Chinese passengers, berthed at Da Nang’s Tien Sa Port on Wednesday at noon and left again on Thursday.  Its passengers were the first of the cruise ship season to stay overnight in the city.

Arranged by the Saigontourist Travel Agency, the ship’s stay was the first experimental 2 day/1 night tour to Da Nang and the central region provinces.  The idea is to diversify the local tourism products, as well as to lengthen the tourists’ stay period in the city, and increase their total spending.

Among the 1,500 passengers, there were some VIP guests from China’s media and travel agencies.  They were visiting to report and survey the city’s tourism market, as well as help to promote Saigontourist’s 2 days/1 night trips to Da Nang and the central region.

On Wednesday, the passengers were taken to visit and discover the beauty of Hoi An City and My Son Sanctuary. On Thursday, they visited some of the popular tourist attractions of Da Nang, such as the Marble Mountains, the Linh Ung Pagoda and the Museum of Cham Sculpture.  In addition, they took the opportunity to enjoy a city tour by cyclo and a traditional Vietnamese musical performance at the Nguyen Hien Dinh Tuong Theatre, as well as to go shopping at the Han Market and the BigC mall.
