Exports hit nearly 2 billion USD
According to the Da Nang Department of Industry and Trade, the city’s indices of industrial production, commerce, and export turnover have so far this year met or even exceeded the year’s targets, despite the economic difficulties.
In detail, the local industrial production index is likely to have increased by 10.7% year on year by the end of this year.
Most notably, the city has so far this year earned 1.9 billion USD from exports, which is the highest ever recorded in the city. In detail, electrical equipment, telecommunications and electronics generated the highest export turnover at more than 240 million USD. They are followed by the textiles and garments industry with 215 million USD, and fisheries with 115 million USD.
In the remaining weeks of this year, the Department will make every effort to stabilise the market prices of pork and essential goods for the forthcoming Tet festival. The focus will be on taking strong measures to fight against trade fraud, and the production and trade of counterfeit and faked products, as well as to ensure food safety and hygiene.
In addition, special attention will be paid to helping local businesses to stabilise their production, expand their consumer markets, and developing tourism souvenirs.
