Representatives from 25 provinces and cities nationwide met in Da Nang last Saturday to discuss setting a national standard for tourism support services.  The meeting was co-organised by the Vietnamese Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the European Union (EU).

Following instructions from the Prime Minister, each province and city in the country which attracts over 1 million visitors annually must set up its own support organisations for tourists.  Da Nang has been selected to develop the first in the country because of its friendly tourism environment and its effective operation of the visitor center at 32A Phan Dinh Phung Street.

In addition, a hot line operating around the clock will be set up in each location for visitors to get free information about hotels, restaurants, and tourist attractions.  The 119 hot line will also offer links to the other centres across the country.
