First-ever social housing project with preferential loans inaugurated
An inauguration ceremony for the 1st phase of the Sun Home social housing project took place in Son Tra District’s Nai Hien Dong Ward, Da Nang, last Friday. The project is the first of its kind in Viet Nam to access loans from the Government’s 30 trillion VND preferential credit package for social housing programmes.
Developed by Viet Nam’s Sun Group, the almost 7,000m2 project has 450 modern units. Each unit covers an area of 30 - 62m2. The project cost 150 billion VND, of which 102 billion VND has been loaned by the city’s branch of the Bank for Investment and Development of Viet Nam.

Between 2013 and 2017, Da Nang is striving to build social housing projects with a total floor area of 400,000m2. The aim is to provide rental accommodation for about 70% of the total workers at the city’s industrial parks. Top priority is being given to constructing a students’ hall of residence, with a total floor area of 200,000m2, for lease, as well as 15,000 flats for local low-income earners who want to buy or lease, with a floor area of 800,000m2.
