International air passenger numbers increase significantly
In addition to the positive signs from this year’s cruise ship season, Da Nang has also seen a significant increase in the number of both air passengers and flights. This has made a remarkable contribution to the city's tourism revenue.
According to the latest figures released by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the city has so far this year welcomed more than 743,000 international visitors. An estimated 264,200 of them arrived in the city by air, an 80% year-on-year increase. The impressive figures can be mainly attributed to the increase of international routes by 8, doubling the figure for the same period last year. There are now a total of 4 scheduled and 12 charter routes.
