Over 374 billion VND for stockpiling goods for Tet
According to the Da Nang Department of Industry and Trade, so far this year local businesses and small traders have spent over 374 billion VND to stockpile food and consumer goods to supply local residents over the Tet Festival at the end of January.
Nineteen of the city’s businesses and supermarkets have already stored Tet goods worth over 224 billion VND, and the volume of their stocks has risen by up to 25% compared with previous months. Their goods include catering supplies, poultry and meat products, and a wide range of cakes, candies and beverages.
In addition, more than 5,400 small traders in 8 major markets now have goods available for Tet worth about 150 billion VND in total.
The Dac Vinh Company has already stored 35 tonnes of pork, whilst the Thai An Company has stockpiled 45 tonnes of frozen seafood. Their products will then be sold at 10 - 15% below their market price over the Tet Festival.
Between 21 and 25 January 2014, pork and processed seafood products will be sold in the city under the local market price stabilisation programme. During that period, sales programmes will be organised in rural areas to bring Vietnamese goods to rural residents.
