Ten major construction projects during 2014
Ten major large-scale projects will be under construction in Da Nang during 2014, at an estimated total cost of 27.3 trillion VND, up 4% against 2013.
In detail, the overpass project at the Hue T-junction will play a vital role in promoting the city’s socio-economic development. Developed by a joint-venture between the Trung Nam and the Trung Nam Hue T-junction companies, the over 2 trillion VND overpass will be implemented on the build-transfer basis. Construction started in September 2013 and is scheduled to be completed on 29 March 2015. Once opened to traffic, the overpass is expected to help reduce traffic congestion and the number of accidents in the area, as well as to become a unique architectural feature at the northern gateway to the city.
Construction of a 150 billion VND underground parking lot at the new Administration Centre will begin in January 2014. This project will be the first of its kind in the city and is expected to be completed within 12 months.
The Da Nang Hi-tech Park project worth about 9 trillion VND is being implemented in 3 stages: the 1st from 2012 to 2015, the 2nd from 2016 to 2018, and the 3rd from 2019 to 2020. The first stage mainly focuses on developing the technical infrastructure on an area of 328ha at a cost of around 3.5 trillion VND. Over half of the park is designated for facilities relating to scientific and technological research and development as well as hi-tech human resource training.
