Many of Da Nang’s retailers and shops have launched big discounts and bonus gift programmes in order to stimulate sales in the days leading up to Valentine's Day.  This is, of course, a popular time of the year for expressions of love and devotion.

The Coop.Mart supermarket is offering its shoppers 40% discount on more than 400 items, including fashionable clothes and cosmetics, under its promotional programme entitled "Gifts of Love".  Most notably, with each bill valued over 300,000 VND, including purchases of the 400 discounted items, customers will have the opportunity to enter a lucky draw to win a pair of iPad 2 tablets.

At BigC Mall, people buying T-shirts for couples will enjoy around 45% discount on the second item.

Meanwhile, Da Nang’s branch of Phu Nhuan Jewellery Co (PNJ) is giving its shoppers 10% discount on its jewellery products.

Furthermore, a wide range of attractive promotional programmes is being launched at many mobile, footwear, fashion shops and bookstores across the city.  For example, a “buy one, get one free” deal is being applied at the FPT Shop, which is located on 672-673 Ton Duc Thang Street in Lien Chieu District.

In addition, there is an abundance of gift items like chocolates, roses and cakes which all are ideal Valentine’s gifts.

Imported chocolates are being sold at more than 200,000 VND per box, whilst the price per box of similar domestic products is ranging between 50,000 and 150,000 VND. 

Many types of flowers are on sale from 10,000 VND per stem, or around 300,000 VND per basket.
