Da Nang’s Police and Customs departments are carrying out an investigation into the origin of 16 supercars which were imported through the port of Da Nang from late 2012 to early 2013.  They included such famous-brand models as Lexus GX 460F, Lexus RX 350, Lexus LX 570, Mercedes Benz S600, BMW Series 5 and Mercedes Benz GL 550.

According to local custom officers, there were no customs declaration papers for these vehicles.  The bills of lading stated that the Phuong Nam Company in Ho Chi Minh City was the receiver, but the company refused to receive the cars because its leaders claimed they had been sent to the wrong address.

The luxury cars are being kept at the port for investigation.  It is thought that the vehicles were imported as the assets of Vietnamese repatriates.
