ODA projects seek approval from Prime Minister
The Da Nang authorities recently asked the Vietnamese Ministry of Planning and Investment to submit a list of the city’s projects seeking ODA capital to the Prime Minister for approval.
These projects are the East-West Economic Corridor Development Project No 2, the seaside wastewater treatment system on the eastern side of the city, and the 2nd phase of the Tien Sa Port upgrading project, plus some terrestrial, marine ecosystems and biodiversity recovery projects in the Son Tra Nature Reserve.
The local authorities also asked the Spanish government to assess a feasibility study of the city’s medical waste treatment project as soon as possible.
In 2013, the city disbursed over 1.6 billion VND from total ODA capital for 9 out of 11 local projects, fulfilling 62% of the year's target. The capital disbursement of 4 of the projects was higher than their targets. These projects were the Information Technology and Communications Development, the Development and Investment Fund, the acceleration of administrative reforms, and the building and upgrading of the traffic signals system.
As for the Da Nang Priority Infrastructure Investment Projects which were completed in the 4th quarter of 2013, the disbursement of ODA capital met its full- year target.
