As part of Da Nang’s “Year for Business 2014” programme, some of the city’s leaders recently met with businesspeople from Lien Chieu District.

The Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee, Mr Vo Duy Khuong, said he hopes that local businesses will regard this programme as a fulcrum for them to make more significant contributions to the city’s progress instead of relying too much on the city’s support.  He added that some of the district’s businesses have not yet paid taxes.  The tax arrears range between 2.4 billion VND and 96 million VND.

The Director of the Da Nang branch of the State Bank of Viet Nam (SBV), Mr Vo Minh, urged city-based commercial banks to carefully consider the operation of local businesses when they conduct banking transactions.  Following instructions from the SBV, commercial banks have lowered leading interest rates on 90% of their previous loans.

A representative of the city’s Department of Natural Resources and the Environment said that the city will lease more land to local businesses which intend to expand their projects, as well as take back any under-used or unused land.

In his closing speech, Vice Chairman Khuong remarked that the city had assigned specific tasks for local relevant agencies to implement during this year’s programme.  Local businesses can learn more about this on the city’s e-portal, in the Da Nang Newspaper’s print and online editions, the websites of local agencies, and via the hotlines which have been set up for local businesses to contact relevant agencies.  Local business owners can also either meet with relevant agencies if they need any help or report their matters to the city’s government as soon as possible.
