Sunken tourist boats raised
On Wednesday afternoon, the Cat Tien A Chau tourist boat, which sank during last year’s storm No 11, was raised from Da Nang’s Han River after being underwater for nearly 6 months.
The boat’s owner, Ms Ton Nu Thanh Toan, said that the cost of raising it was over 100 million VND. She added that the boat would be repaired and put back into operation to meet the increasing demands of visitors for local river tours.

During the storm, 5 tourist boats anchored on the Han River sank – the Minh Tran, Hoang Long Yen, My Xuan, Nguyen Manh, and Cat Tien A Chau. A few days after the storm passed, another Hoang Long Yen tourist boat, Vuong Minh Tran, and some small Thao Van tourist boats also sank due to the rapidly flowing water. The total estimated economic loss from the disaster was about 3.6 billion VND.
As soon as the storm had passed, the My Xuan and the Hoang Long Yen boats were raised.
