Underwater cable line to be installed to provide electricity for Ly Son Island

The Central Power Corporation recently signed a package contract to provide electricity for Quang Ngai Province’s Ly Son Island from the national power grid.

The 652 billion VND project involves the installation of a 9km medium-voltage overhead line in Binh Son District, along with a 27km undersea cable system that transfers electricity from the mainland to the island.
The Italian-based Prysmian Powerlink Group and the Thai Duong Company, a senior wires and cables company in Viet Nam, will be the project’s contractors.
The installation is scheduled to begin in August, and it is expected to be completed by late 2014.
