Last Saturday, the groundbreaking ceremony for the first construction phase of the Da Nang-Quang Ngai Expressway project took place in Hoa Vang District’s Hoa Tien Commune.
The Viet Nam Expressway Corporation (VEC) is the project’s developer, whilst the Civil Engineering Construction Corporation No 1 (CIENCO 1) and the Civil Engineering Construction Corporation No 5 (CIENCO 5) are the main contractors.

It will take about 3 years to build the 8km section at a cost of 2,130 billion VND, which comes from the Vietnamese government’s budget and ODA capital.
This is the only section of the project to run through Da Nang. It will start from the intersection of Highway 14B and a bypass on the southern side of the Hai Van Tunnel, and end in Dien Ban District’s Dien Tien Commune in Quang Nam Province. The road will incorporate an intersection in Hoa Vang District’s Tuy Loan Village, 7 bridges with a total length of 903m, 11 sewage outfalls, and 33 rainwater drainage systems.
