6.1 billion VND for product quality improvement
On Tuesday, the Chairman of Da Nang People’s Committee, Mr Van Huu Chien, and leaders of the municipal Department of Science and Technology discussed the implementation of the “Improving the Productivity and Product Quality of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) in Da Nang by 2020” project.
The 6.1 billion VND project will be divided into 2 stages: the first from 2014 to 2015, and the second from 2016 to 2020.
The project is in active response to a national programme for supporting Vietnamese enterprises to further improve their productivity and product quality by 2020. Under the project, the focus will be on selecting about 20 outstanding businesses that are involved in producing electrical, electronic and automatic devices, information technology products, building materials, iron and steel, composite and lightweight materials, mechanical engineering products, textiles and garments, leather goods and footwear, rubber and plastic products, agricultural products and foodstuffs, and products in support industries.
Furthermore, the city will attach importance to offering consultancy services to local SMEs, as well as supporting them to apply high standard management systems and make more technological innovations and transfers. This will help local enterprises build effective productivity and product quality improvement models. Special attention will also be paid to training experts in assessing productivity and product quality, along with ISO quality management system standards and product suitability to effectively implement the project.
