In a speech at Tuesday’s meeting to promote the establishment of a specialist fashion retailing area on Le Duan Street, the municipal People’s Committee Chairman, Mr Van Huu Chien, asked the Hai Chau District PC to appeal for local fashion shops to register to trade in this street as soon as possible.  He added that business activities on the street’s pavements would be banned.  In addition, trucks with loads of 3.5 tonnes or more would not be allowed to run on the Le Duan Street between 5.00pm and 9.00pm every day.

The 1.2 km-long retail area is from the intersection of Le Duan and Ong Ich Khiem streets to the intersection of Le Duan and Tran Phu streets, and it is expected to be officially operational very soon.
