LED lighting factory to be built in the city
A workshop introducing advanced LED lighting technologies took place in Da Nang on Wednesday afternoon. The event was co-organised by the city’s Department of Science and Technology, and the Future Lighting Company from South Korea.
A representative from Future Lighting said that his company would soon be opening an LED lighting factory in Da Nang. The purpose was to provide green-technology and energy-saving products for the city, and to create jobs for local residents.
Da Nang now has nearly 36,700 public lights, worth around 11.9 million USD in total, with an annual maintenance fee of 457,000 USD. Most of them are conventional lighting devices with high energy-consumption. If the city replaces its existing lights with LED lighting, about 905,000 USD will be saved every year on power. In addition, this environmentally-friendly lighting system will contribute significantly to the local urban landscape.
