Da Nang People's Committee Chairman, Mr Van Huu Chien, chaired a meeting on Thursday to review the implementation of the Ngu Hanh Son Cultural and Historical Park in Ngu Hanh Son District.  The city leader asked the Department of Construction to appeal for local businesses to pour their money into the project.

The project will now cover an area of 127ha instead of the 139ha planned in 2006.  In particular, an area on the western side of Le Van Hien Street will be designated for the park and for the organisation of cultural and spiritual events.  In addition, Thuy Son (the Mountain of Water) and Moc Son (the Mountain of Wood) on the eastern side of this street is planned to become the key destination for visitors.  A statue park will be created on the eastern side of Thuy Son, an upgrade of the existing park of sculptor Nguyen Long Buu and craftsman Nguyen Hung.  An area on the southern side of Huyen Tran Cong Chua Street will be cleared to re-home the trade outlets of the Non Nuoc stone sculpturing.

One thousand five hundred families affected by the project will be displaced from the site, whilst 176 agricultural land lots will be lost.  As a result, 2500 resettlement land lots and 340 apartments will be allocated for the displaced families.
